In Clockwork Orange the background music is classical. Classical music is associated with peacefulness and tranquillity however in this scene, the gang of delinquents are beating up a person. The classical music contradicts how the scene goes as the scene is violent and classical music is related to things such as tranquillity causing the two themes to juxtapose and conflict. The music used is non-diegetic. The director intentionally decided to include to make the violent character seem unpredictable and unsuspecting which the viewer can see as the character unexpectedly attacks his gang members.

In Funny Games , the music used is classical and played by the family in the car. The classical music fits the scene as it portrays a family together whilst driving through a woodland area which comes across as serene and peaceful. The music in this scene is diegetic as it comes from the film itself and comes out through radio within the car and also is parallel as it coincides with scene


Suddenly, rock music is played over the scene, breaking the serenity set up by the scene. This is contrapuntal as it doesn't match the scene and is also non-diegetic as it is dubbed over the scene. Furthermore, the rock music dominating the classical music foreshadows the events that are upcoming in the film.

In Once Upon A Time In America, the flowers hitting the coffin of the dead person is diegetic because it comes from the scene just as the phone dialling. This can also be said for the sound of the rain falling, the man's back getting hit and the flames.

In One Upon A Time In The West, the splashing of the water is diegetic as it comes from the scene just like the water crashing which is weird due to it being a Western and Western are set in desserts which lack water showing how this movie is different than most conventional Westerns.

This scene comes from the movie Creed. The scene uses orchestral music mixed with rap which creates a sense of motivation which aligns with the scene as the character running needs to be motivated in order to win the fight making it parallel. The music dubbed over is non-diegetic as it dubbed over the scene but it could be diegetic as the music could be the from the character wearing headphones under the hood but the headphones can't be seen leading to it being ambiguous. There isn't a lot of dialogue used in the scene and some sound effects used are coming from the motor bikes and dirt bikes in the scene.

Lighting- Still image anaylsis

Lighting: Still Image analysis  The first picture uses top-lighting which highlights the women's facial features such cheekbones and jawline. Also, this makes the women in the picture seem more glamorous but also more vulnerable. The t op-lighting also prevents the background from being clearly seen making it seem as like an assortment of shadows. There is also some lighting which highlights the door between the women. This picture uses low-key lighting. This picture also uses top-lighting and also uses high-key lighting. The picture makes the man's eyes hard to see which makes him seem more imposing and dominant. This quote is true to an extent as the scenes with Roger and Arabella mostly seemed to be them arguing with each other and also leads to their splitting up in on of the the episodes.
