Film and TV Assessment : Learner Response

Film and TV Assessment : Learner Response

1) WWW: Some intelligent points in answering questions but more constituency needed.

EBI: More detailed points for each question only 2/3 concepts covered for Q1.

2) "The increasingly blurred nature of film genres in the contemporary media landscape. Sequels and parodies often offer intertextual references and audience pleasures linked to recognition of other films, franchises, genres or stars." I did not include this when answering question 1 which would have made my answer more detailed and better.

3) Bricolage: something constructed or created from a diverse range of things.
Pastiche: an artistic work in a style that imitates that of another work, artist, or period.
    Intertextuality: the relationship between texts.

4) "Small cinema release in arthouse cinemas appropriate distribution for the film – a British
social realist drama. Similarly, Film4 was a good home for TV premiere in April 2017. It was
also selected for the curated film subscription service MUBI aimed at more discerning, educated film fans." I should have included this answer as it would have allowed me to show the different services Chicken is available and also would have been a valid answer to the question being asked.

5) In the TV show Capital it focuses on a diverse range of character which range from lower class to upper class, different ethnicities and ages. Furthermore, it uses dramatic realism  such as using recognisable places such as Central London with notable buildings such as the Gherkin to further make the TV show seem more real and more grounded which makes the audiences further believe the representations of the characters. The TV show keeps referring to recent events such as immigration, terrorism, financial crisis and the inflation of house prices in London.

In the series Deutschland 83, the things focused on things such as the Cold war in which was the time period the TV shows was based on, things like nuclear weapons and even a song which talked about the dislike of nuclear weapons, Ronald Reagan and problems between Russia and America. Furthermore, things like West Germany being more rich and luxurious when compared to East Germany which was represented as poorer and frugal.  This is shown by the main character trip to the supermarket in which he was surprised and amazed.
