Out Of Mind:

In this film, the lighting used is high-key lighting which makes the the scene well-lit allowing the characters in the scene to be distinguishable. In this scene, there are two characters in which they both have a conversation that also escalates into an argument. One of the camera shots used, allows both the characters to be seen and also makes them talk head to head. The male character is angry and shocked which is seen by their facial expressions. Moreover, the female character is nervous and apprehensive  telling the other character something. Guessing by the characters, it is possible for the movie to fall under the genre as drama.

In drama, there are conventions such as trouble characters, realistic situations that evoke emotional responses, a protagonist facing some kind of struggle and locations that often foreshadow or reflect the emotion in the scene which are  conveyed in this highlight reel of the film. This movie can appeal to young people such as teenagers or young adults due to the fact the main character being young.

This enables the audience to relate to the protagonist and also allows the narrative of the story to not alienate the viewer watching which could happen to a viewer that is not included in the target audience. The second part of the video takes part in a park in which the character is approached by two people causing an argument. After that, a new character introduced in which they speak to the main character in this part, the lighting is bright and takes place in a park.

Approval:

This films show a girl meeting up with her friend to go revise at a library. However, later on it is shown that the girl is robbed causing her to become unconscious which is done by the robber himself. This films uses high-key lighting allowing the characters in the scene to be scene. At first, before the girl meets up with her friend, the film has a blue/grey shade which is either caused by the weather or to show how the character feels as both colours connote and evoke emotional feeling.

However, when the girl goes to her friend to the library, the lighting is bright which can be caused by the weather or to show how the character feels happy and upbeat when she is in the company of her friend. There is a over head camera shot used when the friend is talking to possibly show how she is being watched. Also, when the friend is watching the robber walking away, a camera shot is used which makes it seem as though the viewer is watching through the friend's perspective. This then leads to the camera turning black to emphasis how the friend is becoming unconscious. The setting of the film at first, is at an urban area and then a library and then proceeds to a park with hills. This movie can pander to a younger audience such as teenagers as the protagonist and her friend are also teenagers.

Click:

In this film, it begins with a title which is non-diegetic as it is the music for the title but then becomes diegetic when the it is played through the headphones through the headphones that the character is wearing. Then the character clicks and the sound caused by it is diegetic. A ripple effect occurs on the camera when the character clicks with the video slowing down which then leads to the next part of the film. Then it shows how by the character clicking it causes time to stop with other characters stopping what activity they were doing. Also, a high-pitched noise which is non-diegtic plays over the scene. The lighting for the first part of the film is high-key as it is well-lit and bright and characters are easily distinguishable.

The second part of the film begins with the two characters holding another character hostage. The character who is the hostage has what seems to be blood on his shirt alluding to the idea that the other two characters have inflicted pain but also could show how the other two characters seem to be this mafia/mob type characters which could reveal somethings about the genre of the film. A light is included in the scene showing the hostages face. Also, the camera shot for when the hostage speaks is level with the hostage lying on the floor and the two characters legs being shown, this can show how the other two characters are more dominant and have more power than the hostage shown in the scene. The characters have a row in which seems to based on the hostage owing money to the other two characters. The hostage proclaims that he doesn't have his money leading to the other character becoming enraged, possibly killing him which is proven by the sound of a gun shot after the screen turns to black which could indicate the character dying and losing his consciousness. The lighting in this scene is high-key.

The movie ends with a gun fight on top of a car park. The lighting is greyish which is possibly caused by the weather or represents the confusion and disarray. The main character captures the antagonist after shooting him in the knee to incapacitate him. The camera is then in a first-person view. The antagonist tries to shoot the main character only before the main character kills him in self-defence. The last scene of the movie is the main character taking a member of the gang to possibly use him as a witness. The main character seems frustrated and anger and commands his partner to stay with the remaining gang members.
